Rob got me this cool Skype phone for my bday but the only thing is, I dont use skype anymore. I thought I was still going to be able to use it since I thought this thing just maps the mic and audio inputs to the phone and i could then use it for anything. But that is not so. It uses a piece of software to do all this. It is cool because i can see all my skype contacts on the Phone. but grr.
I use Gizmo Project now since I can recieve my Grandcentral.com calls with it.
I was digging around trying to see if there was a hack that would send Gizmo calls to Skype that i could use the phone. And I did find something sort of. I found a program called Skype2Sip that is supposed to do what I need. But I couldnt get it to go. It uses SIP protocols, which Gizmo supports but even though I was able to log in with Skype2sip with my Gizmo accounts no calls were being transferred.
So, for now, the phone is a paper weight.
