VNC stands for Virtual Network Computing.
VNC lets you control a PC over a network or through the internet by setting up a client and a server. The server being the PC which you will be connecting to. THe client or viewer, is what you control the other PC with.

Did i mention that is free and Open Source...awe yeah...
I have only heard and read about VNC but not until i started working at the clinic did I use it. There are two way to connect to a machine. One being through the View software. Two through a web browser which uses a Java Applet to display the remote PC. The Java version sux in my opion. Why? Because I am used to remoting in with Netmeeting or PC Anywhere. But the Web/Java version comes in handy when not on your own dedicated computer where you have the Viewer installed. So I like VNC.
What makes me Love VNC is that there is a Viewer for the Pocket PC which allows me to take control of VNC servers, which are all over the place at work...
the Pocket PC VNC Viewer Client can be found here:

Installed on all Pocket PCs is an app called Terminal Services which allows you to connect to a remote PC as well. I tried this once and it screwed up all my Desktop Icons and it didnt give me the ability to Send Alt-Ctrl-Deletes. I really cant compare and contrast the two because I never used Terminal Services again...
I really cant display screenshots because you will see this. But there is screen shot of my Winamp in the Wifi and Winamp posts....
