Installed the Nine in clarse today.
Yesterday we started installing Linux 8 on some PCs, but for some reason mine would crap out and would give an exception error during install.
At first I went graphical and then text based, I went farther with the text based but eventually it crapped out on me with the exception.
I figured it was the discs, because i was using mine which have been carried around in my metal case for awhile, so i gave up for the day.
Today though, i took my copy of the Nine and installed it on a Dell Optiplex. i didnt get to see the changes during the intitial setup because i was showing some clarse mates how to reset his parsewd because he forgot his.
When i came back my partner, Lydia, had hit all the Next buttons.
When it finally completed and booted i noticed it asked to create another user other then root. It wouldnt let me get past that. Which is good i guess because someone using root could really jack it up.
It booted into Bluecurve, which i have read is now supposed to be KDE and GNOME in one.
I tried to boot to KDE but it is not an option like in 8. So i am wondering if would have jacked up my KDE if I would have upgraded. After the install we were dismissed. So i think i will stay with my 8.0, or try another Distro once i read up on backing up my entire 8.0 OS by making an image of it.
I am going to look into it, i read about it somewhere, OSnews i believe. I wonder if Ghost can do it?
