Curious about this one for awhile...

Somewhere, somtime ago I was reading something about Linux could disk image. I am interested in having the ability to disk image a Windows partition from a Linux based boot floppy (Imaging "C" to a much bigger "D") and being able to recover it back again.

Anyone ever do this?

I am of the impression that there is a DOS tool that will do this off of a boot floppy... anyone know of that, name, links?

Thanks for any and all help.

I used Knoppix to make an image of my Knoppix HD Install. It will make an image of  Windows partitions also, NTFS and FAT. Boot knoppix into single mode and then type partimage. GIve the exact path of where you want to save the image, something like /mnt/hda2.

Its been awhile since i did this though, about month. But you should get the hang of it.
