Title: Greetings from Windows 7
Post by: digiSal on January 25, 2009, 03:37:55 PM
Greetings from a Dell Latitude e6500 running Windows 7 Build 7000. I keep reading good things about this OS so I downloaded and installed it along side XP and Ubuntu 8.10. Whoo hoo triple booting.

Had a hard time getting online but that is an issue with my Linksys DD-WRT router. I think I hosed the settings while trying to do a bridge to another DD-WRT in the garage.

Anyway, I have not played to much with it. I installed all the operating systems on Friday but had not have had time to play it until now.

This things is running IE8 Beta and i already have trouble rendering pages. My blog looks funny and the text area in which I am posting this is split down the middle. But I am pretty sure MS will say its the coding of the webpages that is the problem and not IE.

I will try and fix these problems by checking if Firefox and Chrome work.

Anyone else tried 7?

I have not tried Windows 7 - honestly not that adventurous these days. Until I get bored.

I'm starting to hear good things about Windows 7. Have you had a chance to play?

Weave, yeah, it is a very fast OS. Especially boot time. Comes up right of way unlike the Vista I have on my home PC. Highly recommend you give it a go.

I think the beta is dead now. Dang...

Alex Albrect (ex-G4 Attack of the Show and current Kevin Rose Digg bud) loves it. Got me thinking. My laptop is so "iffy" hardware-wise that I don't think it will roll easily.
