Title: Memory
Post by: digiSal on February 10, 2004, 10:55:19 AM
FInallly upgraded to more memory!! Been putting it off for a long time. And the only reason I did it this time was because i bought memory for a PC because I thought that was the problem, but it wasnt, so i put it in mine! Funny thing is that i had a 256 133mhz stick laying around and it would crash my PC when i would Extract big arse files, id get memory errors. So i removed. I had put it along side my 2 64mb 100mhz sticks.

The 256mb 133mhz stick I bought for the other PC didnt even let my PC boot up. So i exchanged it for a PC100, which i had bought earlier and returned for the 133mhz. But for the hell of it i put back the original 256 stick i had laying around by itself, and ran it for a few days, did some extracting and decoding and never crashed. So last night i threw in the 256 100mhz for a total of 512mbs and i extracted a 1gig file and it went smoothly.

Kind of odd.  lets see how long it lasts.
