Title: Linux Like Desktop Manager for XP?
Post by: admin on September 08, 2003, 09:12:44 PM
I didnt know about this Power Toy, but i installed it because it sounded like the RH Window Switcher, and sure enough it does the same thing. It only lets you switch between 4 desktops, I believe its eight in RH?

anyway, here is a screen shot.

notice on the bottom the 4 green buttons and the green, the green will give you the screen i am posting, or window key  + V. It looks promising, its one of my favorite features in RH.

WDYT?

I have seen this before... and in Linux that is one of the things I ditch. Well... I usually cut it down to only two switchable desktops and of that I only use one, usually. Maybe I am too "in Windows mode". I do think that it is a neat hack, though. That is in the XP Powertoys? Wonder if it is possible to do something similar in 98SE? Hmmm...

And yes, Redhat can do 8, I think, although default setup is 4 on most distro's I have seen.
